Beam (gaming L1) shipped its mainnet and has no regulator warnings found, but team and audits are unclear

This review covers BEAM, the token of the Beam Network (onbeam.com), a gaming-first EVM Layer-1 built on Avalanche tech. It is not the older Beam privacy coin (beam.mw), which is a separate project. The network's mainnet went live on 24 Oct 2023, Coinbase listed the token in Dec 2025, and our searches found no regulator warnings or lawsuits. The research notes do not name the team, show a third-party audit, or give real-usage data. Most coverage is price commentary, and one hack-related incident involving BEAM on Binance was reported without full details in our notes.

**Red flags**
- The team and legal entity are not identified in the notes we have, and no third-party security audit appears in the search results.
- Cryptonews.net reported a hack-related incident involving BEAM on Binance, including a freeze. Our notes lack the date, scale and outcome.
- The token was a 1:100 redenomination and rename of Merit Circle's MC token (Atomic Wallet), so its history predates the Beam Network launch.
- Two unrelated projects share the name Beam (this one and the beam.mw privacy coin), plus BeamDex material. Buyers can easily mix up tickers and information.
- Independent coverage is largely price-focused. Real usage, revenue and adoption data are not shown in the notes.
- Past price swings were large (reported +500% in 3 months to Feb 2024, then range-bound in Oct 2024), so volatility is high.

**Green flags**
- The mainnet launched on 24 Oct 2023, and the notes mention no missed launch dates.
- Tokenomics and vesting were published (Blockworks token transparency filing, Tokenomist).
- No SEC, CFTC, FCA, VARA or FSA Seychelles warning or action naming Beam was found. The ASIC check was an inference, not a direct search.
- No lawsuits or class actions naming Beam were found in the materials reviewed.
- Coinbase listed BEAM, with spot trading dated 16 Dec 2025 (Tokenomist updates), and the token has been covered by outlets such as The Block, The Defiant and Forbes.
