Shipped products and no enforcement action found, but token allocation and funding details are unclear

Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network, run by Chainlink Labs, that connects smart contracts to outside data. Its mainnet went live in May 2019, and it has since shipped staking, CCIP (its cross-chain protocol) and, by its own account, CRE (a runtime environment for onchain finance). Deloitte & Touche LLP completed a SOC 2 Type 2 examination of CCIP and Data Feeds, according to Chainlink. The research notes found no regulator enforcement action against Chainlink or LINK. They also found gaps: no founder is named, no funds-raised figure is given, and there is no full tokenomics breakdown. Critics, per the notes, have questioned token allocation transparency and how fast features arrived.
